Bobby Cannavale and Rose Byrne Snag $2.2M Brooklyn House

Boerum Hill has long been a favorite neighborhood for celebrities putting down roots in New York City: Michelle Williams and the late Heath Ledger famously settled in a house there, as did Ethan Hawke, Keri Russell, and Hope Davis, to name a few. Add to that list Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale: the couple recently snagged a three-bedroom townhouse at 453 Warren Street for just under $2.2 million, according to the Daily News. The couple, who recently co-starred in the movies Annie and Adult Beginners, had been living in the East Village; their new pad, which is technically a two-family house, has two separate gardens, an open kitchen, and laundry and storage space.

Penn Jillette Nabs $3.8 Million Las Vegas Mansion

Penn Jillette Nabs $3.8 Million Las Vegas Mansion

In late April, just when property owners were touching up their landscaping strategies, illusionist and entertainer Penn Jillette, one half of the famed Penn & Teller duo, made a major change of his own. He bought a 7,808-square-foot mansion in Las Vegas for $3.8 million – and it is outstanding!

Nothing bland is to be found in this two-story residence. Not the facade of windows that have front-row seats to desert mountain views and the famed Strip. Not the two-story great room with one – sorry two – fireplaces, and certainly not the swimming pool with the waterfall feature and adjoining hot tub. Most patios and outdoor parlors are outfitted with fireplaces and plush, elegant seating. This property has those too, but the big-screen television takes it up a notch and practically creates a bonus, al fresco great room.

But on to practical matters. Inside, the kitchen beckons from the back corner of the cavernous open floor plan, and it has enough room for guests to sit while chatting up the busy chef. There is a two-tiered breakfast counter, and beyond that a cook-top island with prepping sink. That leaves loads of free countertop space behind it, especially because the ovens, refrigerator, and other heavy appliances are installed in the walls.

The house offers five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. It sounds very nice and all on paper, but the master suite also has double bathrooms and closets, and an oversized Jacuzzi tub, plus access to a balcony, according to Zillow.

Jillette's newest acquisition is located in The Ridges, according to listing information from the Shapiro & Sher Group. While information on the house did not mention a gym, The Ridges is an uber upscale gated community with access to a top-notch, 9,000-square-foot fitness facility.

Word has it that Jillette will now list his bachelor pad of a house, which he nicknamed "The Slammer." Interesting choice of words (it is Penn, of course), and the new house is definitely a nice place to escape.

Ultra-Luxurious And Secluded Estate In Maine Can Be Yours For $9.5 Million

Ultra-Luxurious And Secluded Estate In Maine Can Be Yours For $9.5 Million

Maine gives America lots to talk about, including its seafood industry, landscape and literary hero Stephen King. But for those who need to own a getaway retreat and are up for a bargain, the Grace Estate is an option that may really get their attention. The landmark residence, along the Penobscot Bay in Maine, is on the market and offers ample tranquility and all the comforts of grand, luxurious living for $9.5 million.

Grace Estate is elegance itself, with a design theme straight from the Renaissance Revival. Set on a peninsula spanning 8.8 acres, the main residence was built in 1918, and offers virtually endless water views from almost every window. It also has 3,500 feet of shore front. Christies's International Real Estate describes it as a year-round cottage, but this is unlike any modest cottage most people have ever seen!

Of course, all houses – the well-designed ones, anyway – easily blend with their surroundings. Grace Estate is included in that group of grand homes. Its wide staircases, and tall, cathedral-like windows all seem to invite the outdoors inside, while maintaining elegance and beauty at every turn. It has hardwood floors throughout the first and second floors. It offers eight bedrooms, including luxurious master quarters with a large bay window and sitting area, and one of the house's many fireplaces. A kitchen leads to a large and fully-equipped butler's pantry, which transitions to a formal dining room that seats ten.

But Grace Estate possesses more than just inner beauty. There is, of course, an in-ground saline pool that is tucked away in a lush garden. In addition, the home has a backyard golf course with a sand trap, which offers the owner and their guests the opportunity to practice driving, chipping and putting to improve their score. If the eight bedrooms are not enough to accommodate all guests visiting at any given time, there's also a guest house on hand to offer additional space along with even more comfort and privacy.

It is no wonder that Grace Estate was once featured in Architectural Digest. Just one question remains: At $9.5 million, who is going to say no?!

Jason Statham And Girlfriend Nab 90210 House For $12.9 Million!

Jason Statham And Girlfriend Nab 90210 House For $12.9 Million!

What does Hollywood's most photogenic action movie couple need right before the summer season? A gorgeous Beverly Hills mansion, of course! So action film actors Jason Statham, and his girlfriend Rosie Huntington-Whiteley have snatched up a 7,119-square-foot home for $12.9 million.

It just can't get any better for Statham, star of pulse racers like "The Expendables" and "Furious Seven" and Huntington-Whiteley from the "Transformers," who also has a lingerie collection. The house has five bedrooms and eight bathrooms and is a fabulous combination of mid-century and modern architecture. The property was also featured in Architectural Digest, in October 2012!

All the necessities of luxury living are in place, including lush, manicured drought-resistant landscaping to ensure privacy, swimming pools to escape the high-noon heat, plus at least three fireplaces – two indoor and one on the poolside patio – to ward off evening chills.

Previously owned by fashion designer Jenni Kayne and her husband, Richard Ehrlich, the house has a simple, clean presentation with sharp lines. It might look industrial, but the wood accents throughout the house change the look considerably and warm it up. There are wood beams in the kitchen ceiling carried through to the living room, in the ceiling and two walls of the den, and in the hallway and along the walls approaching the bedrooms. One of the sitting rooms leads to its own patio with a swimming pool and waterfall feature.

The master bedroom suite is a dream, with exposed wood beams; marble accents in the walls of the bathroom, which also has a copper bathtub; and a small private patio with access to the backyard swimming pool.

An ultra-modern house needs a kitchen with appliances that keep up with the times. This culinary center has a six-burner stove, double ovens in the walls, wine refrigerator and copper light fixtures.

That's not all that lends a modern feel. The Statham-Huntington-Whiteley home has plenty of huge glass doors and partial glass walls, to allow light to flood through all the interior spaces.

Miley Cyrus Grabs This Outstanding Ranch For $4 Million

Miley Cyrus Grabs This Outstanding Ranch For $4 Million

Miley Cyrus might be a wild-child pop superstar, but she doesn't horse around when it comes to feeling secure at home. Reportedly, a series of break-ins at her Toluca Lake home prompted Cyrus to purchase a $4 million horse ranch in Hidden Hills!

There is plenty of room to roam on Cyrus' sprawling new property, located in one of the far western suburbs of Los Angeles, and accessed by a long driveway. Let's start with the outdoor elements of the 5.5 acre property. There is a horse stable with 10 stalls, and a one-acre horse riding area. That ought to help her put the stress of the Toluca Lake break-ins behind her! The large property also has a producing vineyard, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes.

The main, two-story house is an elegant mashup of Monterey and Colonial design styles. This is no little house on the prairie: the 6,500-square foot home has seven bedrooms and six bathrooms, plus a vast wine cellar with room for 1,000 bottles. Inside, the house also has an open floor plan that brings the great room and the kitchen together under rafters — very much like a downtown loft. Wide-plank wood floors flow throughout the house, tying the looks together, and the modern kitchen has up-to-date appliances.

The singer just wrapped up her "Bangerz" tour last year, but that doesn't mean the party is over. Outside, Miley and her guests can kick back on the wide veranda, walk the trails and seek refuge among the property's mature trees, take in killer views, or get competitive in the swimming pool — with a poolside hoop. There is also barbecuing area and outdoor fireplace, to serve hot and spicy foods on those chilly evenings.

Maybe it is a bit early to move out to the suburbs, as Miley's only in her early 20s, but she has a few exciting neighbors, including singer, dancer and "American Idol" mentor Jennifer Lopez; singer and fashion designer Jessica Simpson and Canadian rapper Drake.

Did Beyonce And Jay Z Buy These $2.6 Million NOLA Digs?

Did Beyonce And Jay Z Buy These $2.6 Million NOLA Digs?

Sometimes you have to be really creative to get what you want. If that is the case, then Beyonce and Jay Z really wanted to buy an unusual property in New Orleans's Garden District. Word is circulating that hip-hop's most influential power couple just bought a $2.6 million residential property that used to be a church.

And good heavens, is this place beautiful! A listing from April 2014 says it was built in the 1920s and was dedicated as the Westminster Presbyterian Church. It remained a house of worship until it was sold to the Ballet Hysell in the 1980s, and was used as a ballet school up until 1999. After the property changed hands, it underwent a major overhaul, and the property ended up with 13,292-square feet of glorious living space in open areas. The designers really put their creativity to work. After digging out the knave, the area was fitted with an open common space with two sitting areas. Some of the old church touches are still around the property, like the worn wooden lecturn in the butler's pantry, and – of course – the soaring windows that flood the place with light. The main living space has three bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms, lots of chandeliers, hardwood floors throughout its own space, and a green roof garden.

Jay Z and Beyonce won't have the entire cavernous property to themselves. The old dance school also has three 1,000-square-foot apartments, according to old real estate listings.

Those who are in the know in the real estate market, connect Beyonce to the property because her management company, Sugarcane Park, LLC, shares the same Sherman Oaks, Calif., mailing address as her management company, GSO Business Management, LLC.

That's not Beyonce's only connection to the property. The other is dance, of course! In its heyday, Ballet Hysell had practice rooms, set designs and costumes on the first floor. Dance legend Mikhail Baryshnikov reportedly visited the school during the Russian Ballet's first American your, and Hysell staged an annual production of "The Nutcracker."

Live Like A Hedge Fund Billionaire On This $55 Million 23-Acre Equestrian East Hampton Estate

Live Like A Hedge Fund Billionaire On This $55 Million 23-Acre Equestrian East Hampton

Have a large family? The kind with siblings and their spouses and kids, who somehow always expect you to do the entertaining? Then this 23-acre East Hampton estate is worth a look — or two or three — for $55 million.

You might need a horse just to get around the property, which was assembled from 11 parcels just minutes away from East Hampton Village. A quick arial view reveals a sprawling English County manor home, three guest cottages — one with its own pool — and a barn, plus horse stables with paddocks and riding fields.

The main house has an unbelievable 18,000 square feet of living space under one roof, and offers 12 bedrooms, a dozen full baths, and four partial bathrooms, according to a listing from Sotheby's International Realty. The 3,500-square-foot lower level of the main house has plenty of resort-like amenities, including a sunken spa, sauna, steam room, massage room, and a fully equipped gym. The design of the house was apparently inspired by England's Cotswolds region, with its rolling verdant hills and quaint villages of stone cottages and neat, cobblestone warrens. We're not sure if the property comes complete with Hagrid or Bilbo Baggins, but there are loads of other unique and charming elements.

The main house has an inviting patio, with an outdoor fireplace to ward away chills while talking through the evening. Apparently, it is one of nine outdoor fireplaces throughout the main house and guest cottages. One guest house has six bedrooms, a heated saltwater pool with underwater music, and bluestone terraces. If guests are up for breaking a sweat, they can challenge each other to a few sets on the tennis court.

If this sounds more like a compound to you, then maybe you can apply a little design ingenuity to develop other structures and features on the estate. After all, the property has zoning flexibility.

Zooey Deschanel Selling 1930s Ranch in the Hollywood Hills

Zooey Deschanel Selling 1930s Ranch in the Hollywood Hills

Sitcom star Zooey Deschanel is selling her 1930s ranch in the Hollywood Hills for $2.195 million, so let’s take a look at it and the new place she’s moving to…

Here’s the front of the house, which doesn’t make much of an impression behind all those trees…

Inside it has vaulted, beamed ceilings in the living room:

Zooey bought the house from actor Mark Ruffalo in 2009 and reportedly paid $1.65 million at the time.

A bathroom with a marble tub:

There’s a sunroom off this den, if you look to the right:

The house was built in 1933 and has 2,957 square feet, 3 bedrooms, and 3.5 bathrooms.

Is that the famous Jackie O. photograph by Ron Galella hanging over the fireplace? Looks like it!

The dining room has the original built-ins and arched doorways…

The kitchen has blue cabinets, blue and white tile, and brass accents that are very on trend:

For more photos and information, you can read the article about her house in Variety and check the Westside Estate Agency listing.

The “New Girl” star is expecting a baby with producer Jacob Pechenik. Even though her show is kind of all over the place (I could swear they’re making it up as they go sometimes), I get a kick out of it, so I was happy to hear it’s been renewed for a 5th season.

Here’s the house Zooey just bought and is moving to, which is a lot newer (she’ll be the first owner), is much bigger (with 6 bedrooms and over 5,100 square feet), and cost twice as much (she reportedly paid around $4.5 million):

Her new white kitchen is nice, of course, but I thought the blue one was more interesting:

The Real Estalker described it as a “quasi-Cape Cod/Colonial-style home in the low-key but high-cost community of Manhattan Beach.”

When it was reported that she bought this new house, some sites mentioned that it doesn’t fit her “adorkable” image. She responded that she doesn’t think she’s adorkable — that’s just the character she (convincingly) plays on TV.

You can see the rest of the new place on Curbed.

Okay, I’ve been told I need to post a larger photo at the end of posts that you guys can pin to Pinterest. Here ya go!
